Lab Pixies - Good Business Model?
It looks like Lab Pixies has a nice product and I think, a viable business model. This company is a widget maker that makes little applications you can add to your homepage (google, netvibes, etc) Some of their widgets allow users to search amazon from their home page or add google maps.
Do you think this info/user sharing can be a good source of revenue? I do. Do they have potential for more? Any ideas?

There are a number of widget makers and I think the obvious business model is to put advertising on the widgets somewhere. More and more people are using widgets so there'll be lots of eyeballs to monetize.
I think Lab Pixies (and other widget makers) that go beyond just plaster the widgets with ads will go further than the competition. Integrating data from other sites adds value to the user. Thus the user is more likely to click through, buy stuff, return to the site (and the widget), etc.
The time for static ads has past.
